Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Emery then led his side to victories over Lazio and Valencia in their previous two matches. They will be looking to continue their form into this game and avoid a third consecutive loss on the first day of the season.
