Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, are seeking their first top-flight away win since January, but precedent is steeply stacked against them: they last beat Manchester United back in 1994. Though they ultimately escaped relegation, Forest's form on the road last term was also the worst of all 20 Premier League clubs, winning just one and losing 13 of their 19 away fixtures. Nonetheless, Steve Cooper's side arrive in Manchester buoyed by a 2-1 home victory over Sheffield United last time out.

After suffering their first defeat of the new Premier League season last weekend - away to Tottenham - Manchester United now return to Old Trafford, where they have not lost in the top flight since last season's opening day. In fact, the Red Devils are unbeaten in their last 30 home matches, winning on no less than 26 occasions - their longest such run for six years. Erik Ten Hag's side came out on top in all four of their meetings with Nottingham Forest last term without conceding a single goal, including a 3-0 home win in December.
