City hold on and secure a 2-1 victory over Brighton at the Etihad. It was looking like a comfortable game for Guardiola’s side after two early goals in the first half from Alvarez and Haaland saw them go into the break with a 2-0 lead over the Seagulls. The second half started slowly with De Zerbi's men pushing to get back into the game, before Fati pulled one back to force an exciting end to the game. City remained resolute at the back before Akanjia was sent off, but they absorbed the late pressure and come away with three points. The Sky Blues will be looking to continue their momentum into the Champions League next week against Young Boys, while Brighton will be hoping to bounce back against Ajax at home on Thursday.
