Follow live coverage as Manchester City face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League today.

Manchester City are reigning champions after a dominant 2020/21 season and Pep Guardiola's side are favourites to win it again boasting as they do one of the best squads in Europe.

European champions Chelsea have proven they have what it takes to dethrone City, however, having done it in last season's Champions League final and will be hoping to add a domestic title to the one won in Porto.

Liverpool were winners back in 2020 ending a 30-year wait for league glory and Jurgen Klopp is sure to have them back challenging again at the sharp end this season too while Manchester United will be looking to be back in the title picture with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his former club in the summer.

It's not all about the action at the top though with Norwich, Watford and Brentford promoted to the top tier for 2020/21 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

The important three points for the Citizens means that they move back into top spot above Liverpool, as they wrestle back control of the title race. They will host relegation-threatened Watford next, and will surely fancy their chances of adding another victory. Defeat for the visitors means that their winning run has ended, and they drop a place to 10th. They will play Southampton next at the Amex Stadium as they look to get back in the winning column.

The game finishes 3-0 to the hosts, as they cruise to a comfortable victory. It didn't always look like it would end that way though, as the game went into the break goalless. De Bruyne went close after 26 minutes, when he arrowed a shot from range just past the post. Silva saw a shot saved by Sanchez, before Gundogan couldn't punish a Dunk mistake. The Brighton resistance was finally broken on 53 minutes when De Bruyne was able to nudge the ball to Mahrez, who sidefooted home via a deflection off Dunk. City added a second on 65 minutes, after Mahrez played the ball to Foden from a corner. Foden let fly from distance and saw his shot deflect off Mwepu, which wrong-footed Sanchez and sent the ball into the back of the net. Silva rounded it off late on, when a mix-up in the Seagulls' defence ended up with De Bruyne flicking the ball to Silva, who lashed home and killed the game off.
