Follow live coverage as Liverpool face Watford in the Premier League today.

Manchester City are reigning champions after a dominant 2020/21 season and Pep Guardiola's side are favourites to win it again boasting as they do one of the best squads in Europe.

European champions Chelsea have proven they have what it takes to dethrone City, however, having done it in last season's Champions League final and will be hoping to add a domestic title to the one won in Porto.

Liverpool were winners back in 2020 ending a 30-year wait for league glory and Jurgen Klopp is sure to have them back challenging again at the sharp end this season too while Manchester United will be looking to be back in the title picture with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his former club in the summer.

It's not all about the action at the top though with Norwich, Watford and Brentford promoted to the top tier for 2020/21 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

Liverpool have won each of their last nine Premier League home games, scoring 27 goals and conceding just twice in this run. The Reds are unbeaten in their last 18 league games at Anfield (W14 D4) since a 1-0 loss to Fulham in March 2021.

Another Jota chance! Henderson delivers a good cross into the box and Jota meets it and tries to glance the ball into the far corner of the net, but he doesn't get enough on it and it flies well wide.

CHANCE! Jota with another great chance to double his tally! Henderson whips an excellent free-kick into the penalty area and Jota is completely unmarked and he powers a header towards goal, but it flies just over the crossbar. That should have gone in!

CHANCE! Huge opportunity for Watford to equalise! Sarr is released over the top of the Liverpool defence and he then squares the ball across to Hernandez to his right, who tries to bend his shot into the bottom right corner of the net. However, it flies inches past the post.

CHANCE! Another superb cross into the box by Gomez from the right wing and it seemed to be heading straight onto the head of Robertson at the far post, but Kabasele gets across and makes an excellent defensive header to clear the ball behind. Excellent defending.
