Strikes from Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott pushed Klopp’s men within five points of leaders Arsenal in the table with two games remaining, and four points behind holders Manchester City, who have a game in hand over both.
Liverpool talisman Salah headed home his 18th league goal of the season in the 16th minute before Robertson doubled their lead with a tap-in just before halftime. Gakpo headed in Elliott’s cross in the 50th, then the midfielder bagged his own with a rocket from 20 yards out that curled into the top corner.
Richarlison and Son Heung-min pulled two back to make for a lively ending, but a comeback was not on the cards for Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs who are fifth in the table.

30 min: Anfield screams for a penalty for a trip in the box on Gakpo by Van de Ven. It looked like one, but the replay suggests that perhaps there wasn’t much contact and Gakpo made a lot of it.

25 min: Cristian Romero lumps a ball forwards and it runs through for Alisson to pick up. Spurs are, once again, struggling to make their mark on a Premier League match.

GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Tottenham (Salah, 16)
And there it is! Gakpo dribbles in from the right and clips a clever cross to the back post, where Salah arrives to head home past a weak Vicario save.
It had been coming.
Liverpool 0-0 Tottenham
13 min: Another moment for Salah, who hits the post this time from close range, although the flag then goes up.
Liverpool 0-0 Tottenham
11 min: The lively start to the game has cooled a little bit as everyone catches their breath in the Merseyside sunshine. Tottenham were very positive in the initial minutes but it seems like Liverpool have found their feet in the match now.
Liverpool 0-0 Tottenham
8 min: A couple of huge chances for Liverpool! It’s all coming through Mohamed Salah on the right side. His first chance is a dinked cross which clips the bar and almost ends up in the net. A moment later he’s driving into the box again and Vicario has to save with his legs, before Romero gets back on to the line to clear away Elliott’s rebound.
