Forest boss Steve Cooper, a former Liverpool academy coach, made one change from the defeat to Manchester United with midfielder Orel Mangala coming into the side at the expense of forward Brennan Johnson, who dropped to the bench.

The ball breaks for Mangala on the edge of Liverpool’s penalty area, with the midfielder immediately shaping to curl an effort into the top corner. It’s a decent attempt but it fails to bend back towards the target as Alisson can watch it go by for a goal-kick.

Johnson twists and turns to earn an inch of space ahead of Robertson before sending a flat cross into the penalty area. Mangala gets on the end of it and manages to direct a backwards header towards goal but it’s easy pickings for Alisson.
