Liverpool were winners back in 2020 ending a 30-year wait for league glory and Jurgen Klopp is sure to have them back challenging again at the sharp end this season too while Manchester United will be looking to be back in the title picture with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his former club in the summer.
It's not all about the action at the top though with Norwich, Watford and Brentford promoted to the top tier for 2020/21 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

That win means that Liverpool are just one point behind league leaders Manchester City again. Their attention now turns to their Champions League semi-final first leg against Villarreal on Wednesday. Everton stay in the relegation zone, two points from safety with a game in hand over Burnley. It's another tough test for them next time out as they host Chelsea.

Liverpool pile the pressure on Everton with a 2-0 win in the Merseyside derby. There wasn't much to shout about in the first half, though Doucoure came closest when he dragged a shot wide. Liverpool upped the pressure after the break and Robertson broke the deadlock with a close-range header. Gray almost pulled Everton level but fired his shot just wide of the top corner. Origi came off the bench to wrap it up when he thumped a header over Pickford into the roof of the net.

Everton are making a late push for a consolation, but Mykolenko runs into Van Dijk when he cuts inside from the left. Liverpool break on the counter, but Robertson can't get it out from under his feet to have a shot from the edge of the box.

GOOD SAVE! Henderson lifts it over the top for Salah, who squares it to the edge of the box from the right. Thiago runs onto it, hitting it first time, and a deflection off Holgate makes it awkward for Pickford, but he does well to push it wide.

Salah plays another clever one-two with Origi on the edge of the box before fizzing a dangerous cross into the six-yard box. Holgate slices at it and luckily, it bounces straight to Pickford.
