Follow the latest updates live from the summer transfer window as Premier League clubs pursue last-minute deals ahead of the start of the new 2020/21 campaign this weekend. Manchester United are hopeful of a breakthrough in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho, and the club are also being linked with a fresh move for Bournemouth striker Josh King.

Departures are on the cards at Arsenal as the club weigh up selling both Alexandre Lacazette and Hector Bellerin, with Lyon and both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain interested respectively for the pair. Emiliano Martinez could also be on his way out after a fresh £15m offer arrived from Aston Villa.

Chelsea are in talks to sign Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy in a move that could spell the end for Kepa Arrizabalaga and continue the club’s lavish spending, while Real Madrid are willing to pay half of Gareth Bale’s wages until the end of his contract if he agrees to leave the club this summer. Follow the live updates below.

TOMORI PART OF CHELSEA PLANS

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard insists Fikayo Tomori is still in his plans.

Everton have been linked with a loan move for the centre-back.

But, for now at least, he remains a Blues player.

Barcelona are waiting to sell players before putting in an offer for Lyon’s Memphis Depay, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Depay has already agreed personal terms with the Nou Camp and is keen to make the move, while Ronald Koeman is keen on the player, but Depay is being made to wait for his dream move.

DONE DEAL

Middlesbrough have captured Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli on a season-long loan deal.

Fulham already have last season’s first choice Marek Rodak and new loan signing Alphonse Areola, who may well take Rodak’s spot in the first team for their opening game against Arsenal, and therefore Bettinelli was surplus to requirements.

A delighted Neil Warnock said: “I’m really pleased. I’ve been tracking Marcus since he first got into the team at Fulham a good few years ago and when the opportunity arose to bring him here, I was quick to the call. He’s a good lad, he’ll fit in well and speaking to him, I’ve been really impressed by his attitude and his desire to play for us.”ptured Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli on a season-long loan deal.

NO LYON RETURN FOR LACAZETTE

Lyon sporting director Juninho Pernambucano has revealed he spoke to Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette about a move back to his former club in January but concedes a similar move now would be difficult to pull off.

“In January I called Alexandre Lacazette to chat a bit with him because he was having problems at Arsenal and I said to myself, ‘Why not do a loan for six months with us where you will enjoy yourself, play all the games and score the goals like you know how to? And then you go back to Arsenal or somewhere else’," he said.

“But from the moment that you start looking at the level of the contract of these players, like with Juventus and Barcelona, it is not possible for us today.

“We have to be honest with the supporters. But if the player is looking for a project, is willing to make an effort maybe with a longer contract, wants to come home, then I will go and get him straight away.”

PSG MOVE AWAY FROM BELLERIN

Could this deal impact Arsenal’s efforts to offload Hector Bellerin this summer?

Alessandro Florenzi is set to join Paris Saint-Germain according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The French champions will loan him initially from Serie A side Roma with the option to buy.

They were one of the primary takers for Bellerin but they look like they’ve gone in a different direction.

The Gunners are hoping Bellerin’s sale can raise funds for moves elsewhere, with a midfielder the priority for Mikel Arteta.

MICHY ON THE MOVE

Michy Batshuayi has completed his medical at Crystal Palace ahead of a season-long loan at Selhurst Park, reports Sky Sports.

Oddly the striker is set to sign a contract extension at Chelsea before heading to south London, so presumably the Blues are keen to retain his value.

EVERTON IN FOR MAXI

Everton will need to make ‘very high’ offer for signing Maxi Gomez, according to reports in Spain.

The Uruguayan forward is reportedly a target for Carlo Ancelotti to add to his firepower, with Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin currently leading the line.

Valencia are looking to sell in order to plug financial holes, however, and a bid of £13m could be enough to get the transfer over the line.

WIJNALDUM TALKS PLANNED

Barcelona continue their efforts to sign Georginio Wijnaldum this summer, with the Liverpool midfielder into the final year of his contract at Anfield.

But the Premier League champions have not given up hope of keeping the Dutch international in the form of. anew contract just yet.

The Independent’s senior football correspondent Melissa Reddy can reveal that Jurgen Klopp will sit down with Wijnaldum in the coming days to discuss his future and attempt to talk him into staying, with Liverpool reluctant to lose a player who was crucial to their title assault last season.

MANCHESTER UNITED FRUSTRATION

Manchester United are growing frustrated with the lack of movement in their transfer business.

The delays in doing any deal for Jadon Sancho have been well documented, with Borussia Dortmund unwilling to budge on their £108m valuation, but it is not that pursuit that is top of the headlines this afternoon.

Instead, it is the move for Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon, who is wanted by United to strengthen their full-back reserves in a deal that could be worth around £27m for the 23-year-old.

However, Madrid are holding any successful talks up as they want a buy-back clause inserted into his new contract, according to The Mirror, which would enable the Spanish club to re-sign him if he proves to be a success in the Premier League.
