Follow the latest transfer updates live from the Premier League summer window as clubs look to strengthen throughout the summer ahead of the start of the new season. Manchester United look set to be one of the most active clubs of the window, with interest in Jadon Sancho, Raul Jimenez and Jack Grealish giving fans plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks.

The Independent understands that Borussia Dortmund are ready and willing to come down to £60m in negotiations for England star Sancho. However, that spending could price them out of a move for Aston Villa captain Grealish, with the club unwilling to budge on their £80m valuation. Arsenal meanwhile have been offered the chance to sign former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona – for just £9m.

Chelsea are set to continue their summer spending spree with Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz set to join Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech at Stamford Bridge. Napoli’s Kaliodou Koulibaly is set to be allowed to leave the Serie A club with Manchester City the frontrunners to get him while champions Liverpool could spend themselves with Watford winger Ismaila Sarr an option being considered. Follow the live updates below.

David Alaba continues to attract interest from the Premier League with Chelsea joining Manchester City in chasing the Austrian full-back, who is currently stalling on a new contract with Bayern Munich due to a disagreement on wages, while City are also poised to make a double-swoop for Valencia winger Ferran Torres and Bournemouth centre-back Nathan Ake – having agreed a £41m fee with the recently-relegated club on Thursday.

Salzburg attacking midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has been earning admirers all over Europe across the last couple of seasons and he could be the next to depart the Austrian club.

The likes of Erling Haaland (Dortmund) and Takumi Minamino (Liverpool) were sold in January, while Hwang Hee-chan (Leipzig) left in July.

Now Szoboszlai will be allowed to leave for less than £30 million, reports Austrian newspaper Salzburger Nachtrichten, with Arsenal and Chelsea among those from the Premier League keen to land the 19-year-old Hungarian. Atletico Madrid and AC Milan are also credited with strong interest.

More rumours out of Portugal now, which will lead to confusing headlines if it proves true: Everton want to sign Everton.

Everton Soares, that is, the Gremio attacker who has 14 caps for Brazil.

A Bola says Everton (the team) and Benfica will fight it out to sign the 24-year-old, who is rated at around £22m. This rumour did emerge last year, too, so it could be reignited interest...or a ship which has already sailed.

Arsenal U23 striker Folarin Balogun is wanted by Brentford, but the Gunners want £8 million for him.

The teenager hasn't yet played a senior game and has one year left on his deal, but Sky Sports say he has refused to extend his contract and wants to leave.

Liverpool and Bundesliga sides have also shown interest, but the Bees may make another move if they earn promotion through the play-off final next week, having been rebuffed with an earlier bid in January.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

But the first side to move for him is not the Reds, but French treble-winners Paris Saint-Germain, according to Le10Sport.

They say the bid is approaching €30m and sporting director Leonardo dreams of pairing the Spanish playmaker with Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Transfer window dominoes in effect, here. Relegated Watford might struggle to hang on to a few of their better players this summer, with interest in Ismaila Sarr particularly prevalent.

The £40m winger was a club-record signing a year ago; will they take him into the second tier? The Mirror suggest that Wolves see him as an ideal replacement for Adama Traore, if they lose their own wide forward in the coming weeks.

Local news outlet the Shields Gazette say Newcastle United are in talks to sign Ryan Fraser.

The winger departed Bournemouth at the end of his contract on 30 June and he is available on a free transfer, with his side being relegated from the top flight in his absence.

Chris Smalling is still on Roma's wish list after a successful season, but they want a quick resolution with Manchester United over his price.

Sky Sport Italy say the Serie A club have set a 48-hour deadline to seal a deal, as they want Smalling registered for their Europa League campaign - but for that, United want a deal agreed for next season, too.

The clubs are €3m apart on a deal, with United hoping for a loan plus €15m purchase option.

Here's one of the more unexpected swaps. Smalling isn't just wanted by Roma, but also by Juventus, according to Calciomercato.

And they're willing to give Manchester United Federico Bernardeschi in return.

Not sure he's quite the style of wide forward Solskjaer has been using in recent weeks...perhaps another rumour to file under 'maybe, but probably not'.

Another one from Italy - Gazzetta dello Sport are suggesting that Jan Vertonghen is a target for Inter Milan.

The former Spurs man has departed on a free transfer and has been linked with Ajax, among other teams, but the report suggests Antonio Conte wants him to move to Serie A.
