Welcome along to Thursday’s transfer news live with the latest rumours, gossip and done deals from the Premier League and around Europe. There are a number of top players primed for a move and ready to contribute immediately, but as Manchester United have proven with the signing of Amad Diallo, the best young talents in the world are always on the radar of the top clubs, including Palmeiras wonder kid Gabriel Veron. One of the priorities in the final week of the window will be to shed any dead weight, to streamline the squad and ensure the atmosphere in the group remains as good as possible.
Today’s rumour mill involves Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Southampton in particular, while Danny Ings, who has transformed his career at Southampton, and Nico Barella, Inter Milan’s midfield phenomenon, are the most valuable names doing the rounds over the last 24 hours.
Dele Alli remains out of favour at Spurs under Jose Mourinho and Paris Saint-Germain could offer him a lifeline this month under former boss Mauricio Pochettino, having fallen out of form and therefore out of the picture for England ahead of Euro 2020. PSG of course must be conscious of securing the long-term futures of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, with Real Madrid lurking after the Frenchman resisted signing a new contract.
Manchester United meanwhile could reward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for positioning the club in the thick of the title picture, though there could be many outgoings at Old Trafford, too, with Juan Mata linked to his former club Valencia.
Mesut Ozil’s move to Fenerbahce, United’s deal to bring in Amad Diallo from Atalanta and Sebastian Haller’s big-money deal to leave West Ham for Ajax rank among the most significant deals of January so far. Follow all the latest developments below.

CELTIC AMONGST CLUBS CONSIDERING MOVE FOR PALACE MIDFIELDER
Celtic are one of several clubs interested in signing Crystal Palace midfielder James McCarthy, according to the Daily Mail.
The 30-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and could also be a target for Premier League teams.
Burnley, West Ham, Brighton, West Brom and Championship side Bournemouth are all said to be considering pre-contract offers.
REAL MADRID WON’T SACK ZIDANE
Real Madrid will not sack Zinedine Zidane this season despite growing pressure on the Frenchman.
ESPN claim that Zidane will be given until the summer to turn things around following an embarrassing Copa del Rey exit against third-tier side Alcoyano yesterday.
Only a "catastrophe" would lead to the 48-year-old's dismissal, though Real Madrid's board are said to be angry about many of his decisions.
DERBY TO BATTLE NOTTINGHAM FOREST FOR MORRISON
Derby and Nottingham Forest are set to compete for the signature of Ravel Morrison, according to Football Insider.
The former Manchester United midfielder is now a free agent after being released by Dutch side ADO Den Haag.
And Derby, now managed by Morrison's ex-teammate Wayne Rooney, are said to be keen on a move for the 27-year-old.
ODEGAARD ‘VERY CLOSE’ TO ARSENAL MOVE
Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard is "very close" to joining Arsenal on loan, claim Sport.
The 22-year-old has emerged as a target for the Gunners, although reports that he is on the verge of a move to the Emirates are surprising.
Odegaard is reportedly set to fly to London to discuss a potential deal.
But Eurosport - as well as other Spanish publications - earlier claimed that a return to Real Sociedad on loan is more likely.

POTTER HINTS AT IMMINENT BRIGHTON SIGNING
Brighton manager Graham Potter has suggested that the club are close to securing the signing of highly-rated teenager Moises Caicedo.
The 19-year-old was heavily linked with Manchester United earlier this month but instead looks to be heading to the Amex, with a £4.5m deal for the Independiente del Valle youngster reportedly nearing completion.
And Potter inadvertently gave an insight into the transfer's progression in his most recent press conference.
"There’s always speculation. A bit of noise around things, but until he is a Brighton player, I can’t really elaborate on anything," Potter said, quoted by the Brighton & Hove Independent.
"Well, until anybody's a Brighton player should I say. Please excuse my language. Until anybody is a Brighton player because they are not our players."
NEWCASTLE & SPURS INTERESTED IN JUVENTUS DEFENDER
Newcastle and Tottenham are considering a move for Juventus centre-back Radu Dragusin, according to Sportitalia TV.
The 18-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is free to talk to interested parties.
Juventus reportedly want to extend Dragusin's contract, but he may have his head turned.
As well as Newcastle and Spurs, Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are also believed to be keen on signing the teenager.
