From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

Tottenham enjoyed a comfortable afternoon at the office as Lucas Moura netted a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Huddersfield.

Victor Wanyama opened the scoring before the Brazilian took over scoring three times to move Spurs into third place in the race for the Champions League places.

Here's how it all played out at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium:

Victor Wanyama looks to have slimmed down a little in a season where the midfielder has had to battle a number of niggly injuries.

He and Moussa Sissoko are keeping things ticking over nicely in the absence of the facilitating presence of Harry Winks.

GOAL! Tottenham 1-0 Huddersfield (Victor Wanyama, 24 minutes)

And he's got a goal!

There's an element of fortune about the lead up but that's really nicely taken.

Ben Davies rolls the ball in to Fernando Llorente's feet, backing into the defender as he tries to control.

Llorente completely misses his touch, but Wanyama is alive to the situation and anticipates well, touching the ball beyond the Huddersfield defence.

Out comes Ben Hamer but Wanyama's quick feet round the goalkeeper nicely, and it is a simple slot into the empty net to put Spurs ahead.

GOAL! Tottenham 2-0 Huddersfield (Lucas Moura, 26 minutes)

And it's two soon after!

Another fine finish.

Huddersfield send men forward but are dispossessed, and thus there is acres of room for Moussa Sissoko to move into 30 yards out.

The Frenchman could shoot but spots Lucas Moura making a clever run to the corner of the box, his chipped ball dragging the Brazilian wide but sitting up nicely for a lashed half-volley that rifles past Ben Hamer into the bottom right corner.

That has settled the crowd down and they now sing heartily, even as Huddersfield win a corner off Ben Davies' head.

And they should score from it!

Jon Gorenc Stankovic ghosts beyond the penalty spot completely unmarked and is allowed to meet this out swinger without opposition, rather shinning his volley into the floor and watching the ball spin wide of goal from six yards out.

Lucas Moura looks to return the favour to Moussa Sissoko, lofting onto the sizeable Frenchman's head.

Sissoko looks to head up and on for himself, but he is too enthusiastic in his challenge, conceding a free kick inside the Huddersfield box.

If Huddersfield are to get back into this game they will have to be the first visitors to score at this new ground, which has not looked likely in open play.

Jon Gorenc Stankovic is nearly robbed of the ball as last man by Christian Eriksen, the Dane's leg just missing the ball and taking the Huddersfield's man's leg.

Harry Latham-Coyle13 April 2019 13:04

36 minutes

A glorious flick from Lucas Moura tees up Fernando Llorente in the box, who shows patience to move the ball away from a pair of defenders before shooting.

Florent Hadergjonaj does rather well to get in the eventual shot's path while grounded, crawling across and somehow contorting his body up into the air to block away.

Harry Latham-Coyle13 April 2019 13:07

38 minutes

Moussa Sissoko stretches every sinew to keep a ball in on the right and more through luck than judgement knocks the ball past Chris Löwe, who clatters into the Frenchman.

Christian Eriksen will deliver...

And Fernando Llorente's header is inches wide!

He has a free run to the near post and flicks the ball nicely towards the far post, Ben Hamer nowhere as the ball bounces just past the upright.
