Prediction
Both teams will want to get on the ball and control possession, which could lead to an open match with counter-attacks aplenty and chances at both ends. Saints are more clinical, so they win.
45 mins: Two minutes to go in the first half. There's been very little for the goalkeepers to do so far.
45+2 mins: Aston Villa's main problem seems to be a lack of quality in front of goal. Grealish has a shot blocked before Douglas Luiz chips a naughty ball into the box for Samatta who duffs his shot and leaves Pickford to collect the ball.
The whistle goes to end the first half.
Perfectly average is the best way to sum up that 45 minutes. Both teams created a few (half) chances but weren't able to convert any of them.
Dean Smith will be happy enough. He'll still believe that Aston Villa may just nick the three points as the match goes on.
Everton have scored just 15 second-half goals in the PL this season - only Norwich have scored fewer (12). We're in for a good second half.
Second half: We're back underway at Goodison Park. No changes at half time from either team.
48 mins: Early chance for Jack Grealish. McGinn sends a cross field pass over to the left side of the box. Grealish is all alone when he brings the ball down. He drifts into the penalty area and shoots but pulls his shot to the left of the near post.
51 mins: Aston Villa have started this half well. They've pushed higher up the pitch and are controlling the midfield through Douglas Luiz and Hourihane. Hourihane sends the ball out to Trezeguet on the right wing. He tries to get past Digne but fails.
Andre Gomes puts an Everton free kick into the box but Calvert-Lewin heads it wide.
54 mins: The ball is sent out to Everton's right wing and Iwobi does well to keep it in play. He then takes on Targett, moving first to his left then pulling the ball back onto his right foot. Targett is too slow to respond and Iwobi fires a great cross into the six-yard box but no-one gets on the end of it for Everton.
57 mins: Calvert-Lewin sends the ball out wide to Iwobi. He looks for the cross but decides to pass it back to Coleman. Coleman finds Davies and Hourihane just drops off the Everton midfielder. Davies sees an opportunity to shoot and takes it but the shot goes over.
