Sheffield United are taking on Wolves tonight at Bramall Lane as the two clubs begin their Premier League campaign.

The Blades made a blistering return to the top flight last season, finishing in the top half with one of the best defensive records in the league under manager Chris Wilder. Wolves has been excellent too since coming up the previous season under Nuno Espirito Santo and will expect to push the top six once more.

Follow it live:

12 mins: Jimenez is causing the Sheffield Utd backline a lot of trouble. His hold up play has been great. He flicks the ball behind Basham and turns the defender who brings him down just inside the Blades half. Neto sends it into the box for Dendoncker but the ball is cleared.

6 mins: GOAL! Jimenez wins a corner for Wolves as he shot his palmed over the crossbar by Ramsdale. Neto swings the corner in the middle of the box, Saiss jumps higher than anyone else and meets it with a powerful header that does for Ramsdale. Blistering start for Wolves!

3 mins: GOAL! Podence has the ball on the left wing. Lundstram slides in and mistimes his tackle allowing Podence to run clear. He looks up and passes the ball into the box. Raul Jimenez is waiting like the quality striker he is, he attacks the cross and fires the ball into the back of the net. Wolves lead.

Speaking of second half specialists. The last time Wolves visited Bramall Lane, back in July, John Egan scored in the 93rd minute to earn the Blades a 1-0 victory over Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Time for a touch of revenge tonight?

Wolves were second half specialists last season. They finished seventh overall but if you based the table on first half goals, Wolves would have finished 19th in the league.

The warm ups are underway for the Blades, less than 20 minutes to go until kick off.

Sheffield United took the Premier League by storm last season with Chris Wilder’s tactics of employing overlapping centre-backs. It was a high risk tactic that worked well in the Championship in 2018/19 and again last year.

But, with a complete season in the Premier League under his belt will Wilder stay the same or look to adapt?

He has won 99 of his 195 matches as Sheffield United manager and needs one victory to become the first Blades boss to reach 100 wins in fewer than 200 games.
