From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Mikel Arteta’s side laboured to a 1-0 defeat against Man City last weekend, which somewhat halted the momentum of their brilliant start to the season. However, the Gunners still look vastly improved in comparison to the side who were knocked out in the round of 32 by Olympiacos last season.
Rather than the game itself, though, it’s the rumblings of discontent surrounding Mesut Ozil’s exclusion from tonight’s squad that has dominated the build-up to the fixture, with Arteta admitting that while his “conscience is calm”, he has “failed” Ozil by effectively drawing the curtain on the playmaker’s Arsenal career. Follow all the action below:
TOTTENHAM 1-0 LASK LINZ
Again nice play by Bale, who played a lovely reverse pass for Doherty, who failed to pick out a team-mate.
TOTTENHAM 1-0 LASK LINZ
Tottenham defender Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg goes off for treatment with a split eyebrow. He’s now returned with a bandaged head.
TOTTENHAM 1-0 LASK LINZ
GOAL! A beautifully worked goal that by Spurs.
Ben Davies picks out Vinicius, who in turn sets it up on a plate for Lucas Moura, who makes no mistake.
CELTIC 0-1 MILAN
GOAL! Milan take the lead with their first meaningful chance.
Castillejo’s in-swinging cross is met by Rade Krunic, who heads it into the Celtic goal.
CELTIC 0-0 MILAN
Bright start by Celtic, with Milan looking sluggish.
TOTTENHAM 0-0 LASK LINZ
Chance for Tottenham, but Vinicius’ header flashes wide following a Bale cross.
TOTTENHAM 0-0 LASK
Tottenham playing some enterprising stuff early on, especially with Bale out on the right-hand side.
CELTIC 0-0 MILAN
Celtic penalty shout, but it would’ve been harsh on Alessio Romagnoli, with the ball hitting his hand that was firmly by his side.
