From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Paul Pogba's brace bailed out Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side stuttered to a fortuitous 2-1 win against West Ham.

Tuesday's huge Champions League quarter-final challenge in Barcelona looms large, but attention first turned to securing a return to European football's top table next season.

United moved within two points of the top four as a pair of Pogba penalties sealed victory at Old Trafford, but those in attendance will know how fortunate Solskjaer's side were to have secured a point, never mind three.

GOAL! Brighton 0-2 Bournemouth (Ryan Fraser, 55 minutes)

As Brighton fall further behind!

It's another peach from Ryan Fraser. Quite the season for the Scotsman.

He finds the top corner from the edge of the area after enterprising play from Callum Wilson.

Fulham 1-0 Everton, 55 minutes

Ruled out!

Fulham have the ball in the net again, Ryan Sessegnon the man to turn home, but Kurt Zouma has been fouled in the build up, and the referee quickly halts the hosts' celebrations.

Fulham 1-0 Everton, 59 minutes

Close for Everton!

Dominic Calvert-Lewin shows a turn of pace to get to Gylfi Sigurdsson's through pass, stabbing past the goalkeeper but just the wrong side of the post, a flick of the woodwork as it trickles wide.

Burnley 1-0 Cardiff, 64 minutes

Ooh, Junior Hoilett...

The Canadian simply has to do better after he is found by Kenneth Zohore, missing the target from close range, spooning over the crossbar.

Burnley 1-0 Cardiff, 67 minutes

Just as Cardiff seem to be battering down the door Burnley have a chance of their own, Bruno Ecuele Manga recovering well to thump clear an otherwise goalwards Chris Wood header.

RED CARD! Anthony Knockaert is sent off for an atrocious tackle on Adam Smith.

No arguments from the Frenchman as the red card comes out. It's a shocker. A real shocker.

GOAL! Fulham 2-0 Everton (Ryan Babel, 69 minutes)

Fulham double their lead!

Ryan Babel has proved a canny bit of business in an otherwise disastrous season for Fulham. Here, he provides the necessary nitrous boost on the counter-attack to surge clear of the recovering defence and dink the ball past Jordan Pickford.
