Manchester City host bitter rivals United this evening, with the pressure very much on Pep Guardiola’s side after Liverpool eased past Bournemouth earlier this afternoon.

Liverpool’s win means that the Reds now boast a commanding fourteen point lead over City, who also trail Leicester City.

United have made a similarly inauspicious start to the new season but did beat Tottenham at Old Trafford on Wednesday night and they will go fifth with a win. Follow live coverage below:

Anthony Martial is still out for United meaning Mason Greenwood could retain his place.

15 mins: Man City get the ball into the box from the right. Bernardo slots a low cross into the middle, Lindelof slides to block it and the ball hits his arm. It's never a penalty but the Man City fans are still perturbed. 

Man Utd threaten to break on the counter attack but Fernandinho intercepts a pass out to Martial and Man City can get back into shape.

18 mins: Ederson is needed again! Rashford slots a ball out to the right in behind the defence. Dan James bombs into the box and collects the ball. He passes it back to Martial who shoots and forces Ederson into another save!

Oh my days! City are getting battered on the counter attack. James sprints down the left wing and gives the ball to Martial before he's tackled. Martial passes the ball across the box and into Rashford. Rashford goes for the top corner and hits the crossbar!
