Your support makes all the difference.Liverpool have made major strides in the transfer market recently, with Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota arriving from Bayern Munich and Wolves respectively.
However, it could still be a busy few days on the selling front before the window closes next month. In the case of striker Rhian Brewster, an exit now appears inevitable after the 20-year-old was absent for the club’s Carabao Cup victory against Lincoln. Meanwhile, reports in Spain suggest Barcelona will make a bid for Georginio Wijnaldum before 5 October, with Ronald Koeman desperate to reunite with the Dutch international.
The chances of any more big-money signings appears slim for now, but the Reds are already getting linked with long-term targets for next summer, including teenagers Jeremy Doku and Giovanni Reyna, while reports suggest that Kylian Mbappe could be available for £91m if he does not sign a new contract with PSG this season.
DEMBELE REJECTS REDS OFFER
Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele has rejected the chance to move to England, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Liverpool were keen to take the winger on loan with an option to buy next summer, however Romano states that Dembele has rejected any move away from the La Liga giants.
The winger is determined to stay, according to Romano.
Juventus were also reportedly interested in Dembele.
ORIGI CAREER AT ANFIELD OVER SAYS WARNOCK
Divock Origi’s career at Liverpool is over, according to former Reds player Stephen Warnock.
Origi has mainly been utilised as a back-up player over the past several seasons.
However with the £45m signing of Diogo Jota from Wolves last week, he could find playing opportunities extremely limited.
Speaking on Radio 5 Live, Warnock said:
REDS ASKED FOR SARR
Liverpool made enquires about signing Watford’s Ismaila Sarr before signing Diogo Jota, says Fabrizio Romano.
Liverpool signed Jota last week for a fee believed to be in the region of £45m, but Romano states that before they signed the Wolves forward, they made enquires about Sarr.
Speaking on his podcast, Here We Go, Romano said:
DON’T OVERPAY FOR KOULIBALY SAYS NICOL
Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol says signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly would be a ‘no-brainer’, but they shouldn’t over-pay for the Senegalese star.
Koulibaly has been linked with a move to Manchester City for the last several months, but so far a deal has proved elusive.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is usually a tough negotiator, and is demanding somewhere in the region of €70-€80m for the defender.
Speaking on ESPN FC, Nicol said:
