Both newly-promoted sides were looking to bounce back from opening-weekend defeats, and it was the hosts who found themselves on the right side of a 4-3 thriller following last weekend’s defeat by Liverpool.
Helder Costa put Marcelo Bielsa’s side ahead early before Aleksandar Mitrovic equalised from the spot. A penalty followed up the other end, however, with Mateusz Klich also netting. Costa scored his second of the day in the latter half before Bamford added Leeds’ fourth, and although Bobby Decordova-Reid’s strike and a second for Mitrovic set up a dramatic finish, the hosts emerged with the win. Finally, Arsenal had to dig deep to turnaround a subpar performance tonight and claim the three points against West Ham. Tom Kershaw takes you through the action:

Now back to tonight, Arsenal’s match winner, Eddie Nketiah, has given his reaction to Sky Sports. He spoke about scoring just after coming on and burying the hatchet with teammate Dani Ceballos who set him up to score. This is what he said:
"Almost [the first touch]. The second maybe. It's nice to get on and help the team win."
On his clash with Ceballos last week...
"We had a bit of a coming together. The reaction was there. We made up an got on with it. It was nice for him to make the assist. It's all love now.
"It was a great pass across, good vision. I tried to stay onside. It was an easy finish from there.
"I want to keep improving as a player. It's a great feeling to come on and score.
"West Ham made it very difficult. They came out very strongly in the second half."
Manchester United got their Premier League campaign underway a week after the season officially began. They hosted Crystal Palace and Wilfried Zaha returned to Old Trafford with a captain’s armband and a point to prove. Richard Jolly tells you if he proved it or not:

The 3 o’clock kick off saw two newly promoted sides go head-to-head in a search for their first points of the season. The setting was Elland Road, where Premier League football returned after a 16 year absence. Mark Walker tells us what went down as Leeds took on Fulham:

Mikel Arteta is absolutely delighted, he knows his team were second best tonight in terms of performance but they dug deep and Eddie Nketiah rescued them in the closing minutes of the second half.

There goes the whistle and Arsenal have held on! They’ve got two wins from their opening two games, they haven’t been anywhere near their best tonight but they’ve done just enough to secure the points.
