Their fabulous victory over Manchester United sent spirits sky-rocketing but a horrendous thrashing by Aston Villa proved why Arsenal remain very much a work in progress. 90+4 mins: Full time. It’s been a stellar performance from Liverpool but Leicester brought a lot of it on themselves. They were pretty defensive preferring long balls to playing through the middle. The Foxes never truly worked Liverpool’s makeshift backline and they invited all the pressure onto themselves. Goals from Jota and Firmino were welcome after Jonny Evans’ own goal gave the Reds the opener.
