Burnley head to Selhurt Park to face Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, with both teams hoping to get back to winning ways.

The Clarets have failed to win any of the last three after picking up successive wins prior to that, leaving them in 17th place in the Premier League table - though their situation is not as dire as it might be in that position in previous seasons, given the eight-point gap down to Fulham inside the bottom three.

Palace also won back-to-back games recently, but suffered a 2-0 reversal in their last league outing against Leeds to leave them in 13th place in the table.

Roy Hodgson’s men have looked decent at times, attack-minded and fast-flowing with some of their football compared to previous seasons, though consistency has been a real issue and their defensive record hasn’t been exemplary.

Burnley’s real issue is at the other end of the pitch, with a paltry haul of just 14 goals for the campaign being the lowest in the entire league.

Another managerial landmark today. This one for Roy Hodgson:

LEICESTER VS LIVERPOOL

Reaction from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp who told BBC Match of the Day:

It was a clear game that we should win. We played good football, dominated possession, took the game out of Leicester but apart from that we were really top in the game. We scored a goal, could have and should have scored more, whatever. Everything fine and then penalty, free-kick, offside, not offside, goal. That had a proper impact. That is something that has to change. The first goal for me is offside. The difference is we think it’s an objective thing but it’s not.

“Three players offside for Leicester but it was decided to take another moment in the game. That is how it is. The second goal is a misunderstanding obviously. It is a situation where we should shout and I didn’t hear anyone shout. It is not that cool. The third goal I really don’t like. We are so open. I cannot accept. That was it. The performance for 75 minutes or so was outstanding then we lost 3-1. That shows what a tricky situation we are in.”

CRYSTAL PALACE VS BURNLEY

Burnley (17th) have a nice eight point cushion on the relegation zone which could be extended to a healthy 11 points if they win today. Crystal Palace (13th) would move above Arsenal (11th) if they pick up the three points.

CRYSTAL PALACE VS BURNLEY

Burnley have won the last two meetings between the sides 1-0. They had previously lost four successive encounters against Palace. The Clarets could earn consecutive wins at Selhurst Park for the first time in the league since December 2001.

LEICESTER VS LIVERPOOL

That result has left Liverpool open to dropping out of the top four by the end of the weekend depending on other results. Leicester move about Man Utd into second and are four points off Man City and the top of the table.

MADDISON SPEAKS TO BT SPORT

We know when we play Liverpool, it’s going to be tough because they can do both parts of the game very well. It’s a case of staying in the game. We’re a top team and we know we will get chances.

“We were solid throughout. The more they start going for it the more space opens up for [Harvey] Barnes on the counter-attack so we utilised that brilliantly I think.

“I don’t know what was going through my head and I think Anthony Taylor was lost too. He was getting told this and that - it’s a penalty, a free-kick... Daniel [Amartey] claimed the touch and got a flick-on it but it turned out to be onside. That was a big moment for us to kick on in the game.

“Jamie Vardy sniffs out little opportunities. It was a mix-up between the goalkeeper and the centre-half. It’s just one of those things. You can’t look into it too much. Alisson is having a tough time at the moment but he is a top keeper and I’m sure he will be back. I’m just happy we could pounce on that mistake.

“It’s another three points away at Liverpool. We take it game by game. We have so much quality in the squad. We have a lot of injuries by the way. It doesn’t really get talked about because we’re not the ‘big six’ but we are utilising the squad brilliantly. We are right up there and we’re not up there by fluke. We will keep working and grinding out results against big teams like Liverpool. It’s about taking the big moments. We weren’t at our best to be honest but I’ll take those big moments.”

LEICESTER 3 - 1 LIVERPOOL

90+5 mins: Full time. Big win for Leicester City they are back into second. For long periods they were kept out of the game but a period of seven minutes turned the game on it’s head.

LEICESTER 3 - 1 LIVERPOOL

90 mins: Five minutes of added time to play.

LEICESTER 3 - 1 LIVERPOOL

87 mins: That’s been an extraordinary 10 minutes. Leicester just cut right through Liverpool on multiple occasions. Alisson made another howler then followed it up with a blinding save. Wijnaldum has gone off with Shaqiri coming on. Choudhury is on for Leicester as well.
