From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Odds
Alkmaar 21/10
United 7/5
Draw: 12/5
AZ 0-0 Manchester United
81 minutes
Matic gives the ball away to Midtsjo just outside his own box, but does well to win it back before the AZ man can make his way through on goal.
AZ 0-0 Manchester United
83 minutes
Scott McTominay, who of course scored an excellent goal against United on Monday, replaces Mata.
AZ 0-0 Manchester United
83 minutes
Someone should probably tell Rashford to stop taking free kicks. United win one in a dangerous position on the left, but the substitute blazes it over the bar.
AZ 0-0 Manchester United
84 minutes
Close! McTominay plays a perfectly weighted pass into the feet of Lingard, whose first touch is excellent and allows him to quickly get a shot off. He looks for the top left corner but guides it just wide.
AZ 0-0 Manchester United
87 minutes
AZ make a change: Hatzidiakos is on for de Wit.
AZ 0-0 Manchester United
89 minutes
The lively home crowd are urging AZ forward. The final ball is proving elusive for them, but Stengs wins another corner...
AZ 0-0 Manchester United
90 minutes
It's another poor set piece, this time taken short and eventually played into the box by Midtsjo. AZ haven't done enough to trouble United from the many corners they've had.
AZ 0-0 Manchester United
90+1 minutes
We're into the first of three minutes of added time.
AZ 0-0 Manchester United
90+1 minutes
Dalot is booked for cynically bringing down Idrissi.
