After 98 days football in England returned to the field with Villa hoping to get a result to kickstart their push for safety at Villa Park. The Blades have far loftier ambitions and will have their eyes on an unlikely Champions League qualification place should things break right for them between now and the end of the season.
The match was an even affair blighted by controversy as goal-line technology appeared to miss the ball go over the line in the first-half denying Sheffield United a certain goal.

On David Luiz being left out of the starting XI: "There are a few things that have happened in the last few weeks so I have to pick the team that I think will do well.
"It's a very emotional game for me obviously but I am very excited. It's been a tough few months for everybody."

3 mins: Leno sends the ball up to Nketiah who believed he had the first sight of goal. He chips the ball over Ederson before the whistle is blown for offside.
Mari clatters Sterling to the ground and Man City win a free kick on the edge of Arsenal's 18-yard box.

6 mins: De Bruyne eyes up the shot, he gets the ball over the wall but Leno palms it over the bar for a corner. Man City play it short and quick but Mahrez is offside as the ball is returned to him.

9 mins: Mahrez attempts a ball in behind the defence for Gabriel Jesus who makes the run. The ball skips off the wet surface and out for a goal kick.

12 mins: De Bruyne slots the ball into the left side of the box for Sterling. He tries to square it into the centre but the pass is blocked and Arsenal can break.
Saka crosses the ball into the area from the right, Nketiah receives it but puts the ball wide of goal.

15 mins: Arsenal look sharp going forward. Tierney brings the ball in from the left as Aubameyang goes wide. Tierny passes the ball out ot him and him attempts to cross the ball but Walker blocks it giving away a corner.

18 mins: City hve taken control of the ball and Arsenal have dropped back to defend. Tierney does well to beat Mahrez to a cross field ball and the attack breaks down.

21 mins: Oh. Kyle Walker goes on a great run into the box from the right wing. He runs the ball to the byline and cuts it back into the middle of the box but Jesus lets it run.
