After a strong start, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave the Gunners a deserved lead, turning in Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s rifled cross after 35 minutes.
However, the Gunners were made to pay for switching off in the second half when Moussa Dembele stole into the box unmarked to head home the equaliser. Nine minutes later, after Gabriel Martinelli’s effort was ruled outside, the French striker put Lyon ahead with a cool finish into the bottom corner. Relive all the action below.
What time does it start?
The Emirates Cup gets underway with Arsenal Women taking on Bayern Munich at 12:30pm, before the men’s side take on Lyon at 3:15pm.
Where can I watch it?
The match will be shown live on Premier Sport 1, with full coverage provided on The Independent.
Lyon make Arsenal pay for a series of misses. Depay and Traore have been the visitors' brightest sparks, but it's substitute Dembele who lights the fuse.
The Frenchman rises to nod Depay's cross into the bottom corner of Leno's goal, and suddenly it's Lyon who have the momentum. They're going for a second goal!
Dani Ceballos is on! There will be great expectation on the loanee to make an impact in his debut, with the scores level at the Emirates.
Maitland-Niles is having some trouble and leaves the field (for now) with his boots in hand. He's receiving medical attention, but may be able to come back on. Arsenal fans won't want the youngster to aggravate any injury he may have, but he's been one of the Gunners' better players so far and they could use him in these final 20 minutes.
What a dramatic couple of minutes at the Emirates. Substitute Gabriel Martinelli appears to have given Arsenal the lead, but the goal is ruled out for offside.
Lyon then react well, going up the other end and taking the lead through Dembele, who slides a shot into the bottom right corner!
Aubameyang hits the post!!! There less than 10 minutes left and Arsenal are desperately seeking an equaliser. Aubameyang goes close after catching Lyon keeper Racioppi in no mans land!
