From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The Gunners need a response after defeat to Crystal Palace a week ago but will be boosted by Tottenham's loss to Bournemouth on Saturday as well as their own victory over Valencia in the Europa League semi-finals on Thursday. They got the perfect start as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored from the spot after Nacho Monreal was fouled in the box.
Solly March's fine run down the left sees him dash into the box and Granit Xhaka tugs him back to concede a penalty. Glenn Murray calmly slots home to draw Brighton level.
With a three-point gap between themselves and Tottenham in fourth, who hold a superior goal difference, their route to the Champions League looks to be purely down to winning the Europa League.
We'll have all the latest throughout the afternoon here.

A famous point for Huddersfield, and a fantastic way to end their season at home in front of a wonderfully supportive crowd at the John Smith's Stadium.
Another disappointing afternoon for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United. Is it too late to withdraw the offer?
Convincing in the end, but the scoresheet fails to tell the story of a game that Watford largely dominated at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea were woeful in the first half and the visitors were desperately unlucky to come away with not even a goal from the game.
If Arsenal fail to win this afternoon then Chelsea will secure a Champions League spot...
That concludes our business from Stamford Bridge and the John Smith's Stadium, and we now look towards the Emirates, where Brighton and Arsenal are readying themselves with kick-off under half-an-hour away.
Let's get to the team news...
Team News - Arsenal
Aaron Ramsey has played his last game for Arsenal with the Welshman injured, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles is suspended after his red card last weekend. It looks to be a back four for Unai Emery, with Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan providing plenty of creativity behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Team News - Brighton
Brighton ditch the two up-front strategy so ineffectual against Newcastle last week, with Solly March utilised from the start after an impressive cameo. There are opportunities for Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Yves Bissouma, too, as Chris Hughton makes three changes.
Brighton are now officially safe, of course, though that has more to do with Cardiff's inability to secure enough points than any kind of resurgence from Chris Hughton's men.
Still, a weight off the shoulders, and a chance to enjoy two games against *checks notes*...
Arsenal and Manchester City. Ah.
This game is more consequential for Arsenal, virtually must-win, in fact. A draw would keep them alive, just, but they'd need Tottenham to fail to get anything at Everton on the last day and overturn an eight-goal differential to take fourth spot behind Chelsea. Burnley will be Unai Emery's final opponents in his debut managerial Premier League season.
Two wins would give them a better shot, but it is out of their hands - Spurs are win and in, but Arsenal can put the pressure on this afternoon.
