Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar remain priorities, but the Gunners may need to sell or get creative to land their first choice players, who will come at a premium.
There is also plenty of dead wood in the eyes of the Spaniard to cut down on as he streamlines his squad ahead of what promises to be an exciting season for the Gunners.
EVRA HAILS NEW ARSENAL SIGNING
Former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra has been impressed with Arsenal’s summer signing Willian.
The Brazilian winger was instrumental in The Gunners’ opening day win against Fulham, and Evra, speaking on Sky Sports, hailed the 31-year-old.
NEW GOALKEEPER COULD FEATURE AGAINST LEICESTER
Arsenal’s new goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson could start against Leicester in the third round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
Talksport states that the 25-year-old, signed from French side Dijon last week, could be in line to make his first start against The Foxes in the EFL Cup.
Runarsson was signed for a fee believed to be in the region of £1.5m.
GUNNERS OFFER MUSTAFI TO LAZIO
Arsenal have reportedly offered Lazio the chance to sign defender Shkodran Mustafi, states a report in Italy.
Mustafi was signed by The Gunners in 2016 for a fee in the region of £16m, but is no longer guaranteed first team football at the north London club.
According to Italian publication Lazio Siamo Noi, the defender has been offered to Lazio, who will be playing in the Champions League for the first time since 2007/08.
Mustafi reportedly earns in the region of £90,000 per week with Arsenal, however the side from the Italian capital won’t match this sum, and would be prepared to offer the 28-year-old slightly lower terms.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is hoping to get Mustafi off the books in order to free up funds for more signings.

ARTETA’S FINAL TRANSFER WISH
Mikel Arteta wants two more midfielders before next week’s transfer deadline to cap off a fine first full summer transfer window for Arsenal under the Spaniard.
The Gunners have been told by their first team manager that depth is needed behind Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka, with the West Ham performance exposing that.
ESPN detail how Arteta is keen to ditch Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira and add Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey and Lyon's Houssem Aouar in the process.
TORREIRA ENTERS NEGOTIATIONS FOR PARTEY
Arsenal could look to include Lucas Torreira in a bid to finally land Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid.
The Spaniards have remained firm that the midfielder will not leave for less than his £45m release clause.
But reports in Spain now suggest the Uruguayan could be offered in part exchange, with Diego Simeone and Mikel Arteta in conversation over a swap deal.
