Follow live coverage as Leicester City face Tottenham Hotspur today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

AMBITIOUS! Vicario races out to intervene as Vardy looks to latch onto a long pass over the top. The Spurs goalkeeper is stranded after the clearance, and De Cordova-Reid tries his luck from near the halfway line. The Leicester forward hooks well wide of the target, but that has at least got the home crowd interested!

Fatawu wastes a crossing opportunity, angling straight into the hands of the waiting Vicario. Leicester must stay in this game, otherwise they run the risk of an opening-game humiliation in the second half.

Including last season, Porro has scored in three of his last four Premier League appearances, as many as in his previous 42 in the competition. The full-back's header was more befitting of a striker, and the Spaniard has shown his team-mates how it's done!

CLOSE! Maddison hovers over a free-kick, almost inside shooting range. He instead crosses towards the far post, where Johnson whistles a right-footed volley narrowly wide to Hermansen's right. That was far too easy for the away side.

Tottenham have only failed to score in one of their 18 Premier League away games against Leicester, a 3-0 loss at Filbert Street in September 1997. Their opener here comes as no surprise, in truth.

Leicester are hanging on, just about. Son breezes into the area before his near-post cross is cleared, with Fatawu beating two Spurs players to the loose ball. Cooper will know his side can ill-afford to just sit back and soak up the pressure for much longer.

Only against Arsenal (12) has Vardy been involved in more Premier League goals than against Tottenham (11 - eight goals, three assists). The Leicester striker has hardly had a touch here, however, with the hosts up against it for large parts.

Maddison lofts a teasing ball towards the six-yard area, only for Kristiansen to clear before Johnson can race in. Fatawu then sends the former Leicester midfielder flying to the floor, much to the delight of the home crowd.

Some may have questioned how Solanke fits into Postecoglou's high-pressing game out of possession. However, the striker has has applied more pressures than any other Tottenham player so far in this match (11).
