Leicester City moved off the bottom of the Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Leeds United on Thursday, the visitors’ seventh game without a win.
Leicester’s second success of the season was secured inside 35 minutes as Robin Koch’s own goal and Harvey Barnes’s sweeping finish put the home side in command at the King Power Stadium.
Leeds ran out of steam in the second half, with home goalkeeper Danny Ward keeping their only shot on target in the match out when he blocked Liam Cooper’s close-range effort.
Leicester saw out the win with ease to move above Nottingham Forest into 19th on eight points, one point behind Leeds in 16th as Jesse Marsch’s side moved closer to the relegation zone.

Under heavy pressure from Sinisterra inside the six-yard box, Amartey appears to prod the ball back to Ward intentionally. Though the goalkeeper then gathers the ball, no free-kick is awarded for a back-pass.

Leeds have yet to come from behind to win when trailing at half-time this season, and they will have to put together a far better performance after the break if they are to pull off an unlikely fightback.

An evenly-contested opening period gave way to a productive half-hour for the hosts, as rock-bottom Leicester relieved some of the pressure on their shoulders by taking a two-goal lead down the tunnel. Had Koch not turned the ball into his own goal, Barnes would already have a brace, while Dewsbury-Hall and Praet have also found space to create against an open away side. Leeds may have struck the bar, but they've been less convincing in the final third - so will Marsch make changes at the interval?

Increasingly disjointed now, Leeds give the ball away twice in quick succession, deep inside their own half. They'll be glad when the whistle blows for half-time.
