Leeds vs Chelsea LIVE: Premier League result and final score as woeful Blues fall apart in dismal defeat
Leeds 3-0 Chelsea: Hosts enjoy memorable win over rivals as Brenden Aaronson, Rodrigo and Jack Harrison punished the visitors
Leeds thrashed a dismal Chelsea side 3-0 at a raucous Elland Road for their first win over the Blues in 21 years. The hosts produced a tireless performance under Jesse Marsch as Chelsea suffered their first defeat of the season to continue their underwhelming start.
Edouard Mendy’s error for the opening goal set the tone of the afternoon as Brenden Aaronson robbed the Chelsea goalkeeper of possession before finishing into an empty net. It was followed moments later by Rodrigo’s flying header for his fourth Premier League goal of the season and left Chelsea two goals down at half time.
Tuchel’s side were unable to respond and Jack Harrison added a third later on as Leeds enjoyed a famous victory against their old rivals. It went from bad to worse for Chelsea as Kalidou Koulibaly was sent off for a second yellow card late on.
77’ - Leeds 3-0 Chelsea
Quite incredible, this scoreline. Chelsea haven’t been atrocious, but Leeds have been excellent both in terms of build-up play and defensive resilience.
Struijk needs some treatment and then gets a word from the ref after a foul. Chilwell is on for Mount.

Jamesis replaced by Luis Sinisterra, summer signing from Feyenoord. Massive embrace for the winger from the American head coach.
The new arrival is into the mix immediately, teasing the Chelsea back line. Harrison slides a cross along the six-yard box and Rodrigo is flying in at the back post - Cucurella did really well to prevent a fourth.
GOAL! 69’ - Leeds 3-0 Chelsea
A third for Leeds! A great move down the left to split the defence, the cross is deep towards Rodrigo and he gets a touch on the ball, directing it into the path of Harrison who scoops it in from close range!
West Ham 0-2 Brighton
Leandro Trossard has doubled Brighton’s lead at West Ham. A very troubling start to the season for the Hammers who will be pointless from three games if they cannot mount a response.
66’ - Leeds 2-0 Chelsea
Double sub for Tuchel. Pulisic on for Gallagher and Ziyech replaces Jorginho. That’s going to be a super-offensive midfield for the Blues! Looks like Loftus-Cheek in there as the deepest one to start, with Ziyech somewhere beside him.
Pulisic, Mount and Sterling all around Havertz.
James now strikes from range and it’s heading to the bottom corner until Meslier tips it around the post. Koulibaly’s header from the corner is tame and more comfortable to stop.
62’ - Leeds 2-0 Chelsea
Adams has been relentless in midfield today. Twice he scampers across to make a good block on either a run or a passing lane, frustrating Chelsea’s attempts at building chances.
First sub now as Marc Roca is replaced by Adam Forshaw.
Reece James blazes a trail down the right and crosses low but Koch again does really well to clear. Chelsea subs are incoming.
58’ - Leeds 2-0 Chelsea
Tyler Adams hits an absolute rocket from range which looks like it might smash the net into pieces if it hit it, but there’s a big block in the way and it results in a counter up the other end - Gallagher eventually curls one just wide of the post via a deflection. The corner isn’t of much use though and we’re approaching the hour mark with Leeds still two clear.
54’ - Leeds 2-0 Chelsea
Chelsea certainly having more of the ball in this half and their right flank is the focal point for a lot of the build-up action.
Aaronson leads another counter for Leeds and it initially looks like they can have a three-on-one, but the opportunity is wasted as the move slows down.
James then crosses deep toward Harrison but it’s Loftus-Cheek who makes a brilliant recovery run to put him off.
