From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Miranda snatched a stoppage time victory for Brazil against Argentina on a sweltering night in Saudi Arabia at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
The experienced Inter Milan centre-back angled his header into the net at the near post from a corner to secure victory from what was otherwise a relatively drear affair.
Brazil fielded a strong line-up including Neymar, Phillipe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino yet they failed to take flight against an Argentinian team deprived of its artillery - Lionel Mesi, Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria all missing out on the final leg in the country's Middle Eastern expedition.
Despite the defeat, Lionel Scaloni, Argentina's interim manager, may be the happier of the two managers after his team's gritty performance against a fuller-strength side. Perhaps, Argentina's national team are finally emerging from their protracted dark spell.

Prediction
Brazil 2-1 Argentina
60 mins: Brazil 0 - 0 Argentina
Paredes takes a shot from range for Argentina but it curls right and wide instead of left and in.
63 mins: Brazil 0 - 0 Argentina
Argentina putting lots of pressure on Brazil's back four now, twice they get in behind but twice they fail to get a shot on target. At the other end Neymar was all but in when Pezzella gets a delicate touch that takes the ball away from him
66 mins: Brazil 0 - 0 Argentina
Correa and Lo Celso get yellow cards both for needless tackles. Jesus goes off and Everton's Richarlison comes on for Brazil
69 mins: Brazil 0 - 0 Argentina
Saravia once again wins the battle against Neymar in a one-on-one. Brazil broke away and Neymar would've been in on goal. Neymar comes down the left again and Saravia takes him out but not before he gets the cross away and Richarlison fires a shot wide.
Saravia gets a yellow card for his effort.
71 mins: Brazil 0 - 0 Argentina
Neymar takes a free kick on the edge of the box, he dinks it into the area finding Arthur who fires a powerful right footed strike that Romero punches away.
75 mins: Brazil 0 - 0 Argentina
Lo Celso is replaced by Salvio for Argentina.
Salvio wins a throw in deep in Brazil's half, Saravia throws it into the box and after a few passes Brazil win it back and break. The ball comes to Neymar and he's tripped by Martinez
78 mins: Brazil 0 - 0 Argentina
Another drinks break comes to an end and Brazil have a free kick. They work it into the box but Saravia gets it clear.
81 mins: Brazil 0 - 0 Argentina
Argentina's Tagliafico makes way for Acuna at left back. Nine minutes left to decide the Superclassico championship, for me it's going to penalties
84 mins: Brazil 0 - 0 Argentina
Neymar's brought down again and Brazil have a free kick. Battaglia gets a yellow for the challenge. Casemiro takes the free kick, he runs up and properly boots it, getting a deflection and going for a corner
