Gareth Southgate admits England are struggling to deal with Euro 2024 pressure

Georgia earned its first-ever point at a major tournament in a 1-1 draw with the Czech Republic at Euro 2024 on Saturday.

Video reviews were in the spotlight as the Czechs had a goal for Adam Hlozek disallowed for hand ball. Georgia, the only team making its debut at Euro 2024, then took the lead with a Georges Mikautadze penalty given for hand ball by Czech defender Robin Hranec.

The Czech team got back into the game when a header rebounded off the post and Patrik Schick scored with his chest. Schick went off with a calf injury soon after.

Georgia could have won but Saba Lobjanidze shot narrowly over the bar with the last kick of the game on a counterattack.

The draw means that both teams almost certainly require a win in their last group games to qualify for the knockout stages. Turkey and Portugal are the other two teams in Group F. They play later Saturday.

Almost brilliant from Portugal as Ronaldo lays it off to Fernandes on the edge of the box. He looks like he’s going to sweep it to the left wing but instead he slips a ball through to the onrushing Silva, who just can’t quite get it under control as Bayindir races off his line.

Portugal are taking it pretty easy now. This game was over as a contest as soon as the third went in, and it’s been pedestrian ever since really.

Guler plays an inviting disguised pass into the box, but it’s cleared.

Portugal counter, but Ronaldo can’t get the required accuracy on the pass back to Neto.

Pepe clears the first corner back out for another corner, and then he clears the second corner away before heading away the follow-up cross.

He’s the oldest player to ever play at a European Championship, and he’s had a great game today.

Effective Turkey attacks have been few and far between in the second half, and another breaks down as Yılmaz loses the ball, but they do win a corner in the end.

Unsurprisingly, Ronaldo is looking like the most animated player on the pitch at the moment. You can tell the fact that he hasn’t scored yet is weighing on his mind.

He almost has a couple of chances as Portugal counter, but Pedro Neto can’t find him with a through ball or with the cross on the follow-up.
