This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.

Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Fulham have kept possession well for the opening few minutes of the game. Willian holds possession well on the left before sliding it through to Robinson, who wins a corner. Adarabioyo gets onto the end of the following cross, but he cannot get a good connection on his header.

Forest make five changes to the team that were beaten by Everton at the City Ground. Origi makes his first start since signing on loan from Milan. He comes in for Wood up front. Gibbs-White drops to the bench for only the second time this season, with Hudson-Odoi taking his place on the right. Boly suffered an injury in the last fixture and is replaced by Felipe, who captains the side. Finally, Aina is preferred ahead of Aurier at right-back and Dominguez is picked ahead of Yates in the midfield.

Fulham make four alterations to the side that lost 4-3 to Liverpool in their last outing. It is the most changes that Silva has made from one Premier League match to another, with scorers Tete and Wilson moving onto the bench alongside Ream and Reed. Castagne comes in at right-back and Adarabioyo appears at centre-back. Captain Cairney also starts in the midfield, with Willian returning to the team on the right side of the attack.
