This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Fulham get the ball rolling again. They will be hoping that they will be able to create more chances to score after dominating possession before the break. No changes for either side.

Fulham completed 392 passes before the break but didn't create many scoring opportunities. Luton have defended their box well and have not let Wilson, Willian or Pereira have any time in possession. Tete has been their best player. He has been able to deliver a couple of quality crosses into the box, but they have not been converted. As for the visitors, they have shown that they can defend and attack in the Premier League after a couple of tough away trips. They have counted with quality after being put under pressure but must show a clinical edge if they want to score.

Fulham dominated possession in the first half, but it was Luton who went the closest to scoring before the break. The visitors had two clear opportunities inside two minutes, with Morris and Brown failing to test Leno. Kabore was the architect of both after supplying dangerous crosses from the right. Morris got onto the end of the first cross, with the ball returning to him after a poor clearance from Diop. He had space inside the box but blasted his low effort wide. Brown then went close to netting on his first start, but his header crashed against the post. The hosts found it difficult to break into Luton's box. Tete headed just over, with Wilson failing to score from two free-kicks.

Lokonga's free-kick goes over everyone before being recovered by a Fulham player. Morris goes down after colliding with Reed inside the box. He wants a penalty but nothing is given.
