This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Chance for Fulham! Iwobi makes a superb run in behind the Villa defence and Wilson fires a pass into his feet. He turns inside the box and gets a shot off with his left, but Martinez makes a smart stop with his feet. It eventually falls to Wilson just outside the area and he sends a powerful strike towards the far post, but he fails to hit the target and it goes behind.

Wilson spots the run of Traore on the right-hand side and he looks to use his pace to beat Moreno. The Villa defender struggles to get near him and Traore sends a cross towards the back post. Robinson looks to volley the ball back into the danger zone, but he gets it all wrong and it goes behind for a goal-kick.

Fulham have enjoyed plenty of the ball in the second half in comparison to the opening 45 minutes. Silva's side have had 50.2 per cent of the possession, but have only managed to turn that into one shot on target. The Cottagers are pushing, but they are struggling to find a breakthrough after pulling a goal back earlier in the half.

So close for Fulham! Moreno makes a late challenge on Wilson and Fulham now have a free-kick in a dangerous position. Pereira sends a cross towards the back post and Wilson arrives, volleying a shot across goal. Martinez scrambles across his line, but the ball whistles past the far post and behind for a goal-kick.

Robinson and Iwobi exchange passes inside the Aston Villa box, before the latter looks to deliver into the danger zone. It's deflected behind for a corner and Pereira will take. He whips it towards the front post, but Watkins is there to head it away. The Cottagers are pushing to find an equaliser!

Silva makes his second change of the game, with De Cordova-Reid the player to make way. Wilson enters the fray in a straight swap on the right-hand side of attack.
