Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The final FA Cup tie of the day sees Manchester United take on Brighton at Old Trafford.

2' - Swansea have an early penalty shout as Nathan Dyer goes down in the box under a challenge from Michel Vorm but the referee waves play on!

Yet to see a replay but the ref looks to have got that one right.

8' - It's been a fairly slow start here at the Liberty Stadium. Spurs are starting to dictate the pace of play but we're yet to have a meaningful effort on goal from either side.

GOAL! Swansea 0-1 Spurs (Eriksen, 11)

Christian Eriksen gives Tottenham the lead with a lovely left-footed finish from outside the box that gives Kristoffer Nordfeldt absolutely no chance!

Swansea 0-1 Spurs

15' - Lucas Moura almost doubles the visitors' lead as he skips past a couple of Swansea players in the box before getting a shot away from close range. However, Kristoffer Nordfeldt denies the Brazilian with a smart stop down to his right.

Swansea 0-1 Spurs

19' - Approaching the midway point of the first half now and Spurs really are dominating this match and are good value for their one-goal lead. Swansea are yet to have a shot on or off target.

Swansea 0-1 Spurs

25' - Son has the ball in the back of the net for Spurs after a wonderful first touch and finish from Christian Eriksen's lofted pass... but the linesman's flag is up to deny the attacker!

Referee Kevin Friend refers the decision to VAR but, after a not-so-short short delay, he sticks with the linesman's original call.

Very tight one, that.

Swansea 0-1 Spurs

36' - Off the woodwork!

Christian Eriksen almost produces another beautiful goal with a left-footed shot from distance but this time he is denied by Kristoffer Nordfeldt, who tips the ball onto the crossbar.

Great save.
