From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Saturday saw a shock at Coventry and a surprise at Bournemouth while Manchester City also survived a scare. What will happen next?
We will be across all the thrills, spills, goals and action throughout the afternoon right here.

57' - Aaaaaaand he's back. Matt Sadler returns to the action with a bit of glue applied to a cut on his head and a huge bandage around his bonce.
I wish I could bring you some more interesting updates but there's still not much happening in terms of on-field action.
67' - Shall we call it a draw, lads? The term 'snoozefest' was invented for games like this.
Let's hope the final 25 minutes or so can bring us just a smidgen of entertainment.
73' - Abumere Ogogo goes on a decent run for Shrewsbury and ends up in the West Ham penalty area. From there, he cuts a pass back to Alex Rodman but the winger wants too much time on the ball and he's crowded out.
That's as much fun as we've had in this tedious second half.
78' - West Ham youngster Josh Cullen has just taken a really nasty kick to the head from Abumere Ogogo - and it looks like he's lost a tooth in the process.
After changing his blood-stained match shirt and shorts, he commendably returns to the field to continue the match. Brave lad.
