Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The FA Cup continues today with four fixtures to get stuck into. Both Chelsea and Leicester booked their place in the quarter-finals of the competition last night but who will join them today? Follow all the live action below as it unfolds:

Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Swansea

90+2' - Swansea have a great chance to win it at the death but Adam Reach, on his unfavoured right foot and with only the goalkeeper to beat, opts to cross the ball to Lucas Joao at the far post but the offside flag goes up.

Reach really should've gone for goal himself there.

Full-time - Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Swansea

The referee brings an end to a really poor game of football and we're going to a replay in this one.

*Sighs*

What has Alan Pardew had to say this week?

West Brom have been in the headlines for all the wrong wreasons this week after an incident involving four of their players and an alleged stolen taxi in Barcelona.

Here's what boss Alan Pardew had to say about the incident:

“This is obviously not ideal. They broke the curfew and that’s unacceptable and I feel a bit let down by that.

“The club is clear it’s going to investigate properly to get to the bottom of it and I think that’s right. It isn’t what we wanted.”

West Brom go into today's clash with Southampton on the back of three straight defeats and without a victory since their surprise fourth-round win over Liverpool at Anfield last month.
