From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Arsenal and West Ham meet for the second time in seven days, having played out a 0-0 draw at the London Stadium last week, as the two sides go head to head tonight in the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
Arsenal, as expected in the previous fixture, dominated possession but were unable to break down a stubborn West Ham team that restricted Arsenal to a mere three shots on target. David Moyes will want a similarly committed display against an Arsenal side that Arsene Wenger will be sure to rotate ahead of a tough fixture against Liverpool at the Emirates on Friday.

Leicester 0-1 Manchester City
Kelechi Iheanacho almost equalises for Leicester against his former club but Claudio Bravo produces a smart save down to his right to maintain the visitors' lead.
38' - Theo Walcott spurns a golden opportunity to give Arsenal the lead as his diving header from Sead Kolasinac's cross goes wide of Joe Hart's goal.
That was by far the best chance of the match and Walcott should have done better.
GOAL! Arsenal 1-0 West Ham (Welbeck)
42' - Danny Welbeck gives Arsenal the lead in very scrappy fashion as he bundles home Mathieu Debuchy's headed cross from close range.
West Ham have contained the hosts pretty well up until now but they'll have to be a bit more expansive in the second half if they want to get back into this one.
Half-time scores
- Arsenal 1-0 West Ham
- Leicester 0-1 Manchester City
46' - We are back underway at the Emirates and King Power stadiums!
52' - What an utterly drab match we're observing here. I feel a little guilty watching this game and not writing about it but there really is very little going on.
I'm not just being lazy. Honest.
57' - Javier Hernandez runs in behind the Arsenal defence to get on the end of Andre Ayew's through ball but the Mexican doesn't get far as he is flattened by Rob Holding just outside the box.
Incredibly - and much to Hernandez's fury - the referee waves play on. That was a certain foul.
