Follow live coverage as Everton face Fulham today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Everton vs Fulham

Fulham come forward once again but Tete's overhit pass towards the onrushing Traore goes out for a goal kick. It's an intriguing game so far with Everton happy to allow their visitors to hang onto the ball with Sean Dyche's side looking to break on the counter, however, the home fans are starting to get a bit frustrated with what they are watching.

CHANCE! The visitors press high once again and Mykolenko gives the ball away under pressure. The needless giveaway allows Jimenez to lay the ball off for Smith Rowe but the former Arsenal man takes a heavy touch in the box and Tarkowski boots the ball away. Fulham are squeezing the Everton defence whenever they can and it's forcing the home side into costly errors.

Raul Jimenez has scored or assisted in each of his last five Premier League appearances for Fulham (four goals, one assist). No Cottagers player has done so in six games in a row, while only three players have scored or assisted in six in a row aged 33 or older: Gus Poyet aged 34 in 2001, Dennis Bergkamp aged 35 in 2004 and Zlatan Ibrahimovic aged 35 in 2017.

It's been a bright start from both sides early on. This time, Fulham come forward in numbers as Jimenez lays the ball off nicely for Pereira in the penalty area but the former Manchester United midfielder cannot get his shot away and the hosts clear their lines. The visitors are dominating the ball with nearly 70% posession. Marco Silva will be impressed with what he's watching so far.

ANOTHER PENALTY APPEAL! It's a well worked counter attack from the hosts as McNeil gets his head up and plays Calvert-Lewin in down the left-hand side. The Everton striker drives into the box and cuts inside before going down under a challenge from Bassey. The referee waves Everton's appeals away and the game continues.

CHANCE! The first opening of the game falls to the in-form Jimenez. The Mexican striker has an effort blocked from long range but it's not too long before the potent Fulham forward is back in the chances. Tete plays an early cross into the box and Jimenez chests the ball down superbly in the box. He's just on the stretch though which means his effort is tame and it's an easy save for Pickford.

Everton vs Fulham

It's been a measured start from Everton in the opening five minutes. The hosts are keeping possession well, with both full-backs trying to find Calvert-Lewin at every opportunity but Fulham's defenders are holding firm. Sean Dyche's side were unbeaten in their first 27 home league games against Fulham between 1949 and 2018 (W23 D4), winning each of the last 22 of those. Since then, they’ve lost their last three at home to the Cottagers.

Everton vs Fulham

Fulham manager Marco Silva has won each of his last two away Premier League games against Everton, whom he managed 53 times between August 2018 and December 2019. In Premier League history, the only manager to win away at his former club more than twice in a row was Harry Redknapp at West Ham between 2006 and 2009 (five in a row).

PENALTY APPEAL?! Fulham's Pereira goes down under Mykolenko's challenge in the Everton penalty area but the referee waves that one away. That would have been soft if that was given early on...
