From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Follow live coverage of the very latest from the second leg of Borussia Dortmund’s round of 16 tie with Tottenham Hotspur this evening.

Tottenham’s hopes of lifting the Premier League title have well and truly faded following recent results, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side are still very much alive in the Champions League. They beat Borussia Dortmund home and away in last season’s group stage, and Spurs take a healthy lead to the Westfalenstadion after they ran out 3-0 winners at Wembley three weeks ago.

Second-half goals from Son Heung-Min, Jan Vertonghen and Fernando Llorente have left the Bundesliga table toppers with a mountain to climb. Follow live coverage of the second leg from Dortmund below.

Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham

Tottenham take a three goal cushion into the match at the Signal Iduna Park after a spectacular second half performance at Wembley saw them win 3-0 in the first leg.

They make just three changes from the north London derby side as Harry Winks, Serge Aurier and Ben Davies come in for Kieran Trippier, Victor Wanyama and Danny Rose.

Score a goal or avoid conceding three and Spurs will make it to the last eight of the Champions League.

Real Madrid vs Ajax

Real Madrid clinched a victory over Ajax in the first leg and more crucially two away goals.

But there is some hope for the visitors to the Bernabeu, as Gareth Bale starts on the bench.

Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham

A three goal cushion is enough to make Tottenham complacent in this game but travelling to Dortmund is a totally different beast.

Not only have the Bundesliga leaders put out an attacking team they have the Yellow Wall, that stands at 131 feet high and is the biggest stand in Europe.

It holds just under 25,000 fans and the noise it creates during the match can be very intimidating indeed.

Real Madrid vs Ajax

Santiago Solari makes two changes to the Real Madrid side defeated by Barcelona in the El Classico at the weekend.

Gareth Bale drops to the bench and Sergio Ramos is suspended "for clearly receiving a yellow card on purpose" in the first leg against Ajax,

Nacho and Lucas Vazquez start.

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag fields the same XI that started his side's first-leg of this last-16 tie.

That means former Southampton man Dusan Tadic leads the attack as Ajax look to turn things around.

It's a tough ask as it has been 22 years since Ajax progressed through a Champions League knockout stage tie - when they beat Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid or Tottenham?

Rumours abound about Gareth Bale's future after the Madrid superstar was jeered at from his own fans when he was substituted after 61 minutes in El Clasico.

Since then his agent has come out and labelled the treatment of Bale as "nothing short of a disgrace."

"This generation of Real fans will be talking about Gareth's goals for years to come," said the 29-year-old's representative, Jonathan Barnett.

"They should be ashamed of themselves. Those fans should be kissing his feet."

Bale has since been linked with a return to Spurs in a straight swap deal that would see Christian Eriksen move over to the Bernabeu.

Borussia Dortmund 0 - 0 Tottenham

Real Madrid 0 - 0 Ajax

Here we go, a potentially fantastic night of Champions League action. The teams have kicked off and we're underway!

3 mins: Dortmund 0 - 0 Tottenham

Tottenham hit a long ball forward towards Harry Kane from the kick off and win a throw in. They manage to hold onto the ball for a couple of minutes but lack any penetration in the final third. Dortmund win the ball and send Sancho down the right wing but Davinson Sanchez comes across and clears.
