The pitch is littered with Liverpool players in tears and rooted to the turf. They gave it everything they could but it was short of what Real Madrid are capable of.
Gareth Bale tells BT Sport he is disappointed not to start and issues a 'come and get me' plea.
"I'm disappointed not to start the game. I felt like I deserved it but the manager makes the decisions so what can you do?" said Bale.
"I need to be playing week in week out and that hasn't happen this season for one reason or another, I need to sit down in the summer and discus it with my agent and go from there."
"The Champions League Final, there's no bigger stage. I'm happy to get the win. When I come on I want to make an impact. We know how good we've been, it's been a great season."
