It’s a big game for…
Kylian Mbappé: If you had told Monaco they would be heading home with three away goals three weeks ago, they'd have been happy. Yet somehow, they still enter this second-leg two goals down.
Having scored one of the Ligue 1 side's three and being hailed as the new Thierry Henry, Kylian Mbappé will have to produce if his team are to have a chance.
Best stat...
18: Mbappé fired his strike into the roof of the net as if he’d been doing for years, was it not only his first Champions League start but also being the envious age of 18, in contrast to his finish .
Remember when…
The reverse tie in Manchester had absolutely everything. While you admire all the goals and the criminal defending, make sure to check out Pep Guardiola’s reaction to Sergio Aguero’s yellow card after the Argentinian was judged to have dived. Danijel Subasic, the Monaco goalkeeper, actually appeared to trip the attacker.
Player to watch…
Sergio Aguero: Whether he starts or appears from the bench, due to Guardiola’s tendency to surprise, the Argentine will be a key part in ensuring the Citizens reach the quarter finals for the second time in their history.
Past three meetings…
Manchester City 5 (Sterling, Aguero 2, Stones, Sane) Monaco 3 (Falcao 2, Mbappe)
Champions League, February 2017

Good evening and welcome to our live coverage of the second-leg of Manchester City's Round of 16 match against Monaco. If the first-leg is anything to go by — a thrilling, end-to-end display which many heralded as one of the greatest ever Champions League matches until Barcelona v PSG a couple of weeks later — then this is going to be a treat.
City take a 5-3 lead with them to Monaco, the kind of lead which would usually see a team safely through to the next round. But City have John Stones in defence so anything can happen.
Kick-off is at 7.45pm sharp. Stick with us in the meantime for team news and build-up.
And once again for the traditionalists:
Monaco (4-4-2): Subasic, Sidibe, Raggi, Jemerson, Mendy, Fabinho, Bakayoko, Lemar, Bernardo Silva, Germain, Mbappe-Lottin.
Subs: De Sanctis, Jorge, Dirar, Joao Moutinho, Irvin Cardona, Irvin Cardona, Diallo, Toure.
Man City (4-1-4-1): Caballero, Sagna, Stones, Clichy, Kolarov, Sane, Fernandinho, Silva, De Bruyne, Aguero, Sterling.
Subs: Bravo, Zabaleta, Jesus Navas, Delph, Otamendi, Toure, Iheanacho.
Referee: Gianluca Rocchi (Italy)
Here's a sight that had a lot of Manchester City supporters smiling this weekend:
Falcao picked up an injury against Bordeaux
Falcao was brilliant in the first-leg of this Round of 16 tie and is Monaco's top-scorer this season, but picked up a hip injury after being introduced in the second-half of the club's win against Bordeaux, on Saturday.
Head coach Leonardo Jardim told reporters after the match that he hoped the injury was "only a small hit", but it's certainly proved significant enough to rule Falcao out of this tie. He's not even fit enough to make the bench for Monaco tonight.
He's replaced by Valerie Germain while Kamil Glik, who started the first-leg, is replaced by Jemerson.
As for Manchester City...
Yaya Toure is replaced by Fernandinho, which is undoubtedly a defensive change. Aleksandr Kolarov is preferred to Nicolas Otamendi while Claudio Bravo returns to the bench, to be replaced by Willy Caballero, who of course saved a penalty in the first-leg.
Found yourself wondering exactly how Monaco are suddenly mixing it with the best teams in Europe? Wonder no more as our man Jack Pitt-Brooke has the answers...
Pep Guardiola takes charge of his 100th match in European competition this evening. He's just been interviewed on BT Sport:
We want to win, so we will attack.
From my experience, if you do not score away, you have little chance of going through. But we will also have to defend.
They are strong on the counter attack, and they have to score goals. I am happy to be with my colleagues and managers on 100 games; I hope I will be celebrating tonight.
You heard it here first: Guardiola plans to attack and defend this evening.
The teams are on the pitch and the Champions League anthem is about to be booed by the City travelling support.
