From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Juventus 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur
GOAL! Porto 0-3 Liverpool (Mane)
53' - A swift Liverpool counter-attack ends with a Roberto Firmino shot being parried into the path of Sadio Mane, who slots the ball into an empty net!
Tie over? You'd certainly think so.
57' - Porto's Moussa Marega gets a tame shot away from the edge of the area but Loris Karius makes an easy save.
64' - Trent Alexander-Arnold whips a teasing cross in towards Roberto Firmino at the far post but the ball has just a little too much on it for the Brazilian.
Liverpool are in total control of this one and further goals look likely.
GOAL! Porto 0-4 Liverpool (Firmino)
70' - James Milner's low cross is emphatically finished from close range by Roberto Firmino after industrious work from Sadio Mane in the build-up.
71' - Virgil van Dijk makes a crucial intervention to block a close-range Tiquinho Soares shot behind for a corner.
