Chelsea beat Frankfurt 4-3 in a penalty shootout at Stamford Bridge as the Blues reached the final of the Europa League.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek put Chelsea 2-1 in front on aggregate with a well-taken goal after half an hour tonight, only for Jovic to reply just before the hour to make it 2-2 on aggregate.

The match went to penalties, where Kepa saved twice in the shootout and Eden Hazard hit the winner.

Barkley, the freshest player on the pitch, cuts inside from the left and curls a shot towards the far corner. There's just too much on it and Trapp watches it sail over the bar.

Chelsea 1-1 Frankfurt

97 minutes

Chelsea give away a corner, but Frankfurt's delivery is poor, allowing the hosts to break in numbers. Hazard plays the ball out to Higuain, whose ball across the box is easily intercepted. A wasted opportunity for Chelsea.

Chelsea 1-1 Frankfurt

100 minutes

So close! Frankfurt are denied a second, potentially tie-winning, goal by an excellent goal-line clearance from David Luiz. Kostic's ball to the back post is met by Haller, who doesn't quite connect with his effort. He gets enough on it to guide the ball towards the bottom corner. Luiz does brilliantly to hook clear, though.

Frankfurt win a corner, which De Guzman swings in. It's met by Haller, whose header looks certain to find the bottom corner. Zappacosta is there to clear, though.

Half time: The first 15 minutes is up. Frankfurt are on top and missed two good chances to score, but as it stands we're heading for penalties.
