From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

21 mins: Chelsea 1 - 0 Dynamo Kyiv
What a chance! Zappacosta bombs down the right and crosses the ball into the box, Burda misses the ball and it falls to Pedro. All he has to do is tap the ball into the goal and he picks out Boyko diving to his right.
24 mins: Chelsea 1 - 0 Dynamo Kyiv
Rusyn chases the ball as it rolls towards the byline but David Luiz shoulders him out of the way. Dynamo win the ball back and Kedziora puts it into the box but it's too high for anyone to reach.
27 mins: Chelsea 1 - 0 Dynamo Kyiv
Giroud gets the ball to Kovacic on the edge of the box before Barkley makes a run. Kovacic sees him and plays him in, Barkley shoots but Boyko makes another sharp, low save.
30 mins: Chelsea 1 - 0 Dynamo Kyiv
Pedro goes down in the box but the referee waves no penalty. Sarri is raging but it was a borderline call. I've seen them given but it would have been harsh on Dynamo
33 mins: Chelsea 1 - 0 Dynamo Kyiv
Dynamo win a corner but the ball goes out off Alonso's hand. With VAR that would've been a penalty.
David Luiz sends a ball over the top into Pedro, Pedro brings it down well and shoots but Boyko denies him again.
36 mins: Chelsea 1 - 0 Dynamo Kyiv
Willian runs the ball to the byline on the left and pulls it back to Alonso, who shoots and wins a corner as the ball is deflected. Willian delivers the corner and David Luiz heads the ball wide.
39 mins: Chelsea 1 - 0 Dynamo Kyiv
Chelsea work the ball so smoothly, Giroud touches the ball into Willian's path to puthim past the defence, Willian gives it to Pedro who's forced wide before giving it back to Willian. Dynamo get men back as Zappacosta puts the ball into the box. Another good play from Chelsea.
42 mins: Chelsea 1 - 0 Dynamo Kyiv
Dynamo need to have a re-think at half-time. Chelsea have been completely dominant in this half and Dynamo have hardly created any chances.
45+1 mins: Chelsea 1 - 0 Dynamo
Pedro gets the ball on the left side of the box, he puts the ball onto his right foot and shoots. Boyko makes the save and Pedro looks up to the sky, he just can't beat the goalkeeper.
There's 1 added minute and it passes without incident.
