Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

La Liga leaders Barcelona face mid-table Eibar at the Camp Nou on Sunday evening.

Ernesto Valverde’s men actually come off the back of a loss to Levante in the Copa del Rey on Thursday, but have won their last five league games.

Eibar have drawn their last five matches in all competitions, including a 0-0 at home to Villarreal last week; they are in 13th place on 22 points.

What time does it start?

Barcelona vs Eibar kicks off at 5:30pm (GMT) on Sunday 13 January.

Where can I watch it?

Barcelona vs Eibar will be shown live on Eleven Sports 1 from 5:25pm (GMT).

Highlights will be on the Eleven Sports website after the game.

Player to watch…

Luis Suarez: The Uruguayan scored a fantastic volley last week at Getafe, and has 17 goals to his name this season in all competitions. Despite this, the 31-year-old hasn’t scored at the Camp Nou since a hat-trick against Real Madrid in October.

45 minutes: Real Betis 0-1 Real Madrid

Two minutes of added time here, as Karim Benzema is down. Looks like he's hurt his finger after he fell badly on his right-hand.

HALF-TIME: Real Betis 0-1 Real Madrid

Luka Modric's stunning strike separates the sides at the break.

Madrid have been the better team, but Betis came back into it towards the end of the period.

It'll be interesting to see if Benzema comes back out for the second half - he's still clutching his hand.

Looks like Cristo is going to come on for Karim Benzema at half-time...

Kieran Jackson13 January 2019 20:49

Indeed, 21-year-old Cristo Gonzalez comes on for Karim Benzema at half-time.

A suspected broken finger for the Frenchman.

47 minutes: Real Betis 0-1 Real Madrid

Canales needs to be more clinical in front of goal for Betis.

This time, space opens up for him as he approaches the box, and his shot is within Navas' reach, and the Costa Rican holds on down low to his left.

50 minutes: Real Betis 0-1 Real Madrid

Guardado puts a ball into the near post, and it ricochets off Raphael Varane out for a corner.

Real Betis' first corner of the game.

51 minutes: Real Betis 0-1 Real Madrid

The corner is overhit and Madrid clear. Vinicius has a chance to break at the other end but he is well tackled.
