Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

La Liga leaders Barcelona face mid-table Eibar at the Camp Nou on Sunday evening.

Ernesto Valverde’s men actually come off the back of a loss to Levante in the Copa del Rey on Thursday, but have won their last five league games.

Eibar have drawn their last five matches in all competitions, including a 0-0 at home to Villarreal last week; they are in 13th place on 22 points.

What time does it start?

Barcelona vs Eibar kicks off at 5:30pm (GMT) on Sunday 13 January.

Where can I watch it?

Barcelona vs Eibar will be shown live on Eleven Sports 1 from 5:25pm (GMT).

Highlights will be on the Eleven Sports website after the game.

Player to watch…

Luis Suarez: The Uruguayan scored a fantastic volley last week at Getafe, and has 17 goals to his name this season in all competitions. Despite this, the 31-year-old hasn’t scored at the Camp Nou since a hat-trick against Real Madrid in October.

Back underway!

49 minutes: Barcelona 1-0 Eibar

Pena's cross from the right is poor, with three Eibar players to aim for in the box.

51 minutes: Barcelona 1-0 Eibar

Eibar are dominating possession here.

A ball into Enrich finds the number nine in a promising position inside the box, but he's just offside.

GOAL! Barcelona 2-0 Eibar (Messi 53')

Lionel Messi's 400th La Liga goal!

Suarez's ball to Coutinho finds the Brazilian in the box. He squares the ball back to Suarez, whose cushioned ball to Messi allows the Barcelona captain to go past one, and it's a trademark finish by Messi, left-footed into the corner.

Again, largely against the run of play, but for all Eibar's possession they've struggled to create any good chances.

56 minutes: Barcelona 2-0 Eibar

Unbelievable save from Riesgo!

Suarez is found unmarked in the box, and his point-blank header is saved superbly by the keeper.

57 minutes: Barcelona 2-0 Eibar

Coutinho has a chance this time, but Riesgo does well again to send the Brazilian wide and block his shot.

Barca have suddenly woken up.

58 minutes: Barcelona 2-0 EIbar

It's more wonderful play by Barcelona's front three.

Coutinho, from the left, threads a delightful outside of the foot pass to Suarez, who unselfishly lays it back to Messi for a chance, but Riesgo saves well down to his left.

GOAL! Barcelona 3-0 Eibar (Suarez 59')

In the blink of an eye, Barcelona have upped the tempo, and Luis Suarez has his second!

The Uruguayan cuts in from the right after a quick throw-in by Roberto, and finishes superbly with the outside of his right foot into the corner.

In just six minutes, this game has run away from Eibar.

64 minutes: Barcelona 3-0 Eibar

First sub for Eibar, as Marc Cucurella (on-loan from Barca) comes off for Pablo de Blasis.
