From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference.Something old and something new for Chelsea, then, as they do battle in the very first Champions League game at Atletico Madrid’s state-of-the-art Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
Providing familiarity, of course, will be Diego Costa, who is expected to bid farewell to his former teammates – and manager – in the tunnel before the match gets under way.
Blues boss Antonio Conte insists he is keen on the reunion and there are no hard feelings towards the player who will pull on an Atletico shirt once again in January.
The niceties finish at the toot of the referee’s whistle, however, with Chelsea looking to build on the 6-0 opening day win over Qarabag and Atletico hoping to improve on their 0-0 draw with Roma.
Follow all the action below:
Here’s everything you need to know about the game:
What time does it start?
The game kicks off at 7.45pm (BST) at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday 27 September.
Where can I watch it?
BT Sport 2 will be broadcasting the game. Alternatively, return to this page for updates from our live blog.
It's a big game for...
Alvaro Morata. In many ways the man brought in to replace Diego Costa for Chelsea. The 24-year-old has enjoyed a stellar start to life in west London. Can he return to his hometown and put in a big performance against a club he once represented as a boy and one that turned into his bitter rivals while at Real? It would certainly help banish the memories of Diego Costa if he does.
Player to watch…
Filipe Luis. The left-back will be coming up against the club where he spent one relatively unhappy season. Although Chelsea won the league in 2014/15, Luis struggled to nail down a place in the starting line-up with Cesar Azpilicueta being preferred by then manager Jose Mourinho. That was a surprise for many because Luis had excelled the season before when Atletico won La Liga and reached the Champions League final, beating the Blues along the way. He eventually moved back to Atleti and has been a mainstay ever since. He is a man with a point to prove on Wednesday night.

Team News
CSKA Moscow vs Manchester United
Jose Mourinho has made five changes to the side which beat Southampton 1-0 on Saturday as well as a change in formation. A much changed United line up with five at the back.
Will this man be in the stands today?
Diego Costa was present at Atletico Madrid's game last weekend after completing his escape from Chelsea. The sticker will not be able to play for the Spanish club until January 1 2018 when their transfer ban ends.
Antonio Conte to BT Sport: "It's big test tonight and they are a good team. For us it is a test, we want to see where we are.
"I think that my focus and con has always been for the players and we work together and we started to work with Alvaro since the start of the season.
"Hazard deserves this chance and opportunity, ss you know after an injury it's not easy to recover well."
We all know Antonio Conte as a fairly entertaining manager but nobody in Europe rivals the touchline drama presented by Diego Simeone. His remarkable managerial career is a Champions League winners medal away from competing with history's best managers. The former Atletico Madrid player has two runners up medals as manager and has everything he needs to mount another charge on Europe's elite.
The teams are emerging from the tunnel and while the Wanda Metropolitano doesn't have the same ferocity as Vicente Calderón, it is still very impressive.
Kick off is minutes away and we'll have live minute-by-minute commentary of Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea as well as updates from CSKA Moscow against Manchester United.

Here's here! Television cameras have spotted Diego Costa who is taking selfies and chatting to fans as he takes his seat in a rather plush section of the new stadium.
