Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Arsenal head into the Europa League in good hands under Unai Emery, who won the competition in three consecutive years as Sevilla manager. The Gunners will be hoping to improve on their performance in last year's competition, in which they were beaten in the semi-finals by Atletico Madrid.

Emery is expected to make several changes to his regular side, with Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira, Mohamed Elneny and Stephan Lichtsteiner pushing for starts.

Their relatively unknown opponents, Vorskla Poltava, finished third in the Ukrainian top division last season and are competing in the Europa League group stage for the first time since 2011/12.

90 mins: GOAL! Arsenal 4 - 2 Vorskla - Sharpar

Kolomoets sends Rebenok down the left wing and he crosses the ball into the box along the deck. Sharpar runs onto it and sinks the shot with the very last touch of the game

Arsenal 4 - 2 Vorskla

Vorskla get two consolation goals but it was Arsenal's game. Aubameyang was brilliant throughout and Iwobi played very well. They take the points and get their Europa League campaign off to a winning start
