From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Arsenal survived a fright to reach the last 16 of the Europa League, after two goals in 69 seconds brought Ostersund back into the tie, before Sead Kolasinac killed the game.

Arsenal 0-0 Ostersund (Agg: 3-0)

1' - We are underway at the Emirates!

Liam Corless22 February 2018 20:05

Arsenal 0-0 Ostersund (Agg: 3-0)

5' - Ostersund have dominated these early stages and Arsenal are yet to really get going. The hosts conceded possession really cheaply in dangerous positions twice already and we've only played five minutes!

Arsenal 0-0 Ostersund (Agg: 3-0)

10' - Ostersund create a superb early chance as Saman Ghoddos plays skipper Brwa Nouri in on goal with an incisive through ball, only for his first touch to let him down with only David Ospina to beat.

The Swedes have started this match with great confidence.

Hector Bellerin of Arsenal challenges Ostersund's Ken Sema

Liam Corless22 February 2018 20:20

Arsenal 0-0 Ostersund (Agg: 3-0)

16' - We've just had a couple of boos from the home fans inside the Emirates after a corner for Arsenal ended up with the ball back at David Ospina's feet.

This really has been a poor start by the home side.

Liam Corless22 February 2018 20:21

Arsenal 0-0 Ostersund (Agg: 3-0)

18' - Ken Sema tests David Ospina with a left-footed shot from a tight angle but the Arsenal stopper makes a fairly routine save down low to his left.

GOAL! Arsenal 0-1 Ostersund (Aiesh)

22' - Ostersund take a deserved lead on the night and it's Hosam Aiesh with the goal as close-range strike after good build-up play deflects into the bottom corner off Calum Chambers.

Game on!

GOAL! Arsenal 0-2 Ostersund (Sema)

23' - Incredible!

Ostersund double their lead on the night as Ken Sema skins Calum Chambers inside the penalty area before rifling a left-footed shot across David Ospina and into the bottom corner!

The visitors, remarkably, are now a goal away from levelling this tie up!
